HISTORY
ART VISION is a competition of projection mapping and VJing attracting professionals and aspiring artists from all over the world. The competition is annuallly held as part of the Circle of Light Moscow International Festival.
In 2012 the first ever ART VISION Competition was held between the Russian contestants only. The third competition was entered by 35 artists from 13 countries.
2014 became a turning point for the International event; three nominations were introduced: Classic, Modern and VJing. All three were shown at VDNKH park known to be one of the largest and most popular parks in Moscow. The judging panel welcomed International praised designers, artists, VJs and persona. That milestone year contestants from 24 countries applied to the competition.
In 2015 ART VISION celebrated its fifth anniversary by showing the Classic entries on the world known Bolshoi theater. The other two nominations were kept at VDNKH. That year the judging panel was chaired by Patrick Woodroffe, English lighting designer who lit the Olympics in London, worked with Michael Jackson, Rolling Stones and many others.
In next 2016 ART VISION introduced a new turn on VJ battle – it was held at an indoor venue for the first time. Izvestiya Hall capable of holding 3000 people at a time was crowded by festival goers while VJs were skillfully mixing videos on a 12 meter wide LED screen. That was the first time when VJs performed along a live DJ set. DJ DIASS from Bulgary was invited to set groove of the battle.
For the first time the Competition venue united three buildings, thus only five finalists of Classic Nomination 2018 demonstrated their works created the 270-degree video projection on the facades of Bolshoi, Maly and Russian Academic Youth Theatre.
Two long years (2020-2021) without the Circle of Light festival and ART VISION Competition were left behind! We are back!

Winners of ART VISION CLASSIC 2019
ART VISION Classic is an international competition of Classic Architectural Projection Mapping. Contestants of this Nomination create 2D or 3D mapping projections on a facade of buildings playing up its geometry and architecture. Teatralnaya Square uniting facades of three world famous theatres: Bolshoi, Maly and RAMT and two more surfaces placed on the right and left sides of Boshoi Theatre will be a venue of the Classic Competition. It means that finalists’ works will be demonstrated on five surfaces at the same time! Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.

This year Victory Museum will be a Venue of the ART VISION Modern Competition. Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.

VJING

ART VISION VJing is an International battle of VJs playing 10 minute VJ sets using the prepared video content and accompanied by a live DJ set. This year Arbat Hall will be a Venue of the ART VISION VJing. Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.

is an Art Director of Federal Channel One and co-founder of Wowhaus architectural bureau. Likin has been in the contemporary art since 1987. In the 90s he was an art director of Imperial magazine, PTYUCH magazine and Harper’s Bazaar and since 1998 he has been working for Channel One. Dmitry is a member of the Russian Television Academy, Chairman of the Guild of Designers, Promoters and Artistic Directors, Director of ORT-Design Management. He has won Broadcast Design Awards and five prestigious TEFI awards.
is a light designer who has worked with the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, Norwegian National Ballet, Royal Danish Ballet and The Boston Ballet. In 2006 Kunttu received the prestigious Bessie Award in New York City for lighting design. His handprint can also be seen in Finnish television. He has worked as a lighting, screen and set designer in several large productions, including various TV galas such as Savonlinna Opera Festival, the Finnish adaptations of Talent, Dancing with the Stars, and the Eurovision Song Contests in Helsinki in 2007, and Malmö in 2013. His latest projects include the lighting design for the Grand Opening of the new Oslo Opera House.
is a new media artist dedicated to digital art education and lighting art creation, currently working as a lead artist at a lighting design company. He personally has not only great interest in new media art, but also in traditional art forms and design fields, and have a keen judgment on contemporary art forms.
is a Creative Director with 10 years of experience in delivering award-winning ideas for museum projects, exposition pavilions and brand events. In 2013, he founded the design studio about_blank, developing communication and product design projects for international corporations like Fastweb in Italy, Constellation Brands in the U.S.A., IE Tecnologia and Ventrix in Brazil and Fresh Mix in China. In recognition of his work, in 2013 he won the Samsung Young Design Award, the Cristalplant Design Contest and the Sharp Design Contest - a Light for Emotional Comfort. In 2019 he was invited to be part of a jury for the third annual ISE Stand Design Awards, Organised by EXHIBITOR Magazine, the international competition which honours excellence in trade-show stand design among exhibitors at Integrated Systems Europe, the world’s largest AV and systems-integration trade show (held in Amsterdam).
Graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts, Jerusalem in Architecture. Merav was working in big offices in Israel: at Sheshefski Marash as lead architect for public buildings and interior design; at Dagan Mochly Architects in Haifa as head of preservation and restoration. In 2007 – 2009 Merav co-founded OGE Interactive Gallery at Campus HaNamal Haifa, an entrepreneurship that showcased high quality exhibitions and explored the different forms of involvement of the public into art projects in public space. At the same year she also opened her own studio OGE Group as a platform for all forms of designs and artistic managements: architecture, light design, interior design, art, events and branding. Since 2016 OGE Group has been an official coordinator of Jerusalem Festival of Lights.
TATIANA GUK (Russia) has the PhD in Architecture; she is a professor at the International Academy of Architecture, member of the Union of Moscow Architects and Union of Designers of Moscow, Director of the State Moscow General Planning Research and Project Institute. Such huge projects as the master plan of Kazan, Almetyevsk, Ufa, Voronezh, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk were led by Tatiana Guk. Previously, Tatiana Gulk served as the Deputy Chairman of Moscow City Architecture Committee; the Administration of Architectural and Artistic Image of the City of Moscow reported directly to Tatiana Guk. Also, together with the Complex of municipal economy of Moscow city, Tatyana Guk coordinated the Development of Urban Environment and My Street programs.
Deputy Head of the Mass Media and Advertising Department of Moscow Administration; longtimer and guardian of the traditions of Art Vision; has been its judge from when the competition became an essential part of the Festival.
is the Master of Media Arts, independent curator, new media artist, interactive installations designer, scholar of the Artist-in-Residence at the Museums Quartier in Vienna and Creative Stipend of the City of Krakow. Artistic Director of the Patchlab Digital Art Festival in Krakow, Poland. She cooperates with the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland, with M2C Institute for Applied Media Technology and Culture, City University of Applied Sciences in Bremen, Germany, Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo, Norway. Digital artists of the Elektro Moon Vision - an internationally renowned Polish-Hungarian duo of multimedia artists working at the intersection of creative computing, design and light-art, creating interactive multimedia installations, wide-format projections, video mappings and scenography projections for theatre and opera. They have participated in significant international digital media art exhibitions and events around the world
(Holotronica; Hexstatic) is a British audiovisual artist and VJ whose works of the last 15 years have brought him to prominence. Being a part of Hexstatic duo he released the first audiovisual album, created content for the World Expo in Lisbon and material for BBC and Channel 4. Stuart Warren-Hill together with Robin Brunson as a duo Hexstatic were voted top VJs by readers of DJ Magazine in 2005. The duo also was instrumental in designing VJ equipment including the Pioneer DVJ-X1. Warren-Hill co-founded Big Chill multimedia festival together with other not less known audiovisual artists. Currently he has been working on a new 3D blu-ray project called Holotronica and has invented a new type of 3D holographic effect called Holo-Gauze TM.
